Synopsis (Google Translate)
A serial rapist is loose in the Hong Kong suburb of Tuen Mun. Based on the true story of Lam Kwok-wai, who raped and murdered women in the early 90s.
Perfectly fine just doesn’t really have an identity to make it memorable or interesting. This very much follows the Dr Lamb and Untold Story template of goofy cop comedy crossed with a dark crime thriller but this isn’t nearly as successful as either of those, mainly due to the lesser cast. I will say it was better directed than I expected for a dtv HK film, I believe it was my first one! If you want a Cat III film along these lines, just watch The Rapist instead.
Also, since this is from Danny Lee’s production company and stars the man himself of course we get A LOT of police brutality. Oh Danny, you’re so predictable at this point! ….Review by PenguinBoss
